Evaluation of the Implementation of the UK Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Strategy, 2013-2018
The aims of the Strategy were to be achieved through activity in seven areas: improving infection prevention and control; optimising prescribing practice; improving professional education, training and public engagement; developing new drugs, treatments and diagnostics; better access to and use of surveillance data; better identification and prioritisation of research needs; and strengthened international
collaboration. The Strategy was developed within a One Health approach,2 thus the scope of the Strategy included issues relevant to human health, animal health and husbandry, agriculture, and the wider environment.
